Calle Sound System is a mini album that SIDI WACHO put together as a response to the covid health crisis.
Their musical universe is in perpetual movement and strives to throw off stereotypes and labels.
Their binary groove and their arrangements are inspired by Chilian Cumbia and Balkan Brass Bands. They also add rap, Latin rhythms and reggae to their super-spicy cocktail.
Calle Sound System represent the struggle for emancipation of the oppressed working classes.
With a blend of colourful sound and lively, enraged texts, the album really hits the spot. It changes the rules whilst at the same time creating an original mix of sounds, rhythms and accents.
A new eight-track vinyl album.

SIDI WACHO was born of the meeting between the cumbia musician Juanito Ayala and the rapper Saidou (ex MAP). “Sidi” means ‘Mister’ in Arabic and “Wacho” means “a Chilean street urchin”!
Injustice and social divisions are the lifeblood of their musical creations. They remind us that class war is still very much a reality and that it is every bit as important to denounce inequality, racism and the misuse of power.
Their lyrics are both poetical and political and they freely admit that “making an album is a perfect excuse to get on the road!”.
